Light Composite Aircraft

The use of composites in light aircraft is an increasing trend around the world and the predecessor company, Buchanan Aircraft Corporation, was one of the leaders in the field who extended the use of composites to include the majority of components.

The "Ozzie Mozzie" was the result of an extensive design, tooling and manufacturing project that saw the successful flight of the second prototype aircraft in the late 80's. This aircraft is both lightweight, resulting in the need for a smaller engine, and corrosive resistant. This aircraft has clearly demonstrated to capabilities to produce similar products to CASA requirements as was done with the Mobile Intensive-Care Rescue Facility (MIRF), as well as repairs to both civil and military aircraft which BAC continues to undertake.
